Natural cat flea remedy

A good remedy to keep fleas off of your cat is this simple solution: Slice a whole lemon very thin (peel ‘n all) and add to a pint of water. Heat this mixture right until the boiling point. Let sit overnight. In the morning gently rub the mixture into your cats fur and skin. Just dampen the fur don’t drench it! Do this once a month. This is a natural flea killer! You can also use this every day for skin problems involving fleas. Sprinkle a small amount of Brewers yeast onto your kitties food. Fleas hate yeast! Also, avoid flea powders containing pyrethrins. Although considered safe, the cats will lick it off when grooming and will be ingested. It is so much safer for your cat if you use natural flea remedies. Don’t forget to wash your feline’s bedding and all area rugs often (the fleas will drown!). Vacuuming frequently is a must! Sprinkle some Rosemary or Eucalyptus leaves under your cats bedding (powdered Rosemary works in a pinch).

Fleas Hate Salt!

Besides protecting your cat house with a sprinkling of salt, try washing your pet with salt water. That is sure to kill those pesky fleas! Add some salt to your vacuum bag and vacuum often during flea season. This will kill the fleas that are trapped in the bag. Don’t forget to vacuum the couches and chairs.

Cats can even be allergic to fleas so buying a flea remedy is important also. Allergic reactions to fleas can often become evident in the way the cat acts. If they are scratching and are continually developing patches or scabs on their skin, try getting rid of the fleas. Flea bombs and even flea collars may work, but there are some fool proof products out there that will kill the fleas and the flea eggs from your home! Two products that are greatly recommended for cats with fleas are Capstar and Revolution. Capstar actually comes in the form of a tablet for your cat, while Revolution is a formula that you apply to their fur and skin. Using these two products in combination with each other will help your cat to get relief from the constant bother of fleas. While Capstar will get rid of the fleas that have already hatched on your cat, Revolution will continue to get rid of the fleas on your cat, as well as kill the eggs and new fleas that jump onto him or her. These products work wonders and should be considered a miracle treatment for your cat’s fleas. In addition, getting Capstar and Revolution from your local veterinarian is not at all costly!

Will the lemon solution also help with new born kittens( 3 to 4 days old)???

  3. I have successfully used the lemon water to get rid of my indoor cats’ fleas. It takes a little time, but I prefer using this method instead of any chemicals.

I haven’t heard of the trick of adding salt to the vacuum bag. I have wondered about fleas living in there, so I am going to act on this tips as well.

    Thanks!

I have another question about the lemon water, does it do anything for the flea nits. I have been brushing my Himalayan cat up to 8 times a day, for 30 to 40 minutes at a time to remove the nits, but the fleas are laying daily. So, will I have to use the lemon water daily until all the eggs have hatched or will the initial application do the trick?

gosh, i would take that cat to the vet for the real stuff he tells people to put on the pets back skin. for 2 months once per month to get rid of that problem greatly better than any lemon idea. my gosh. they don’t charge you usually no, for just walking in, for the flea stuff to put onto your pets skin.on its back top.
the way you say you keep brushing your cat, seems like your loving the activity,i never heard of anyone brushing a pet that many times per day.
